Reports out of Italy claim that Tottenham are battling the likes of Napoli and Benfica for the signature of 21-year-old Ajax striker Danilo Pereira da Silva.

Danilo, who has made just three first-team appearances for Ajax, banged in five goals in eight games for Jong Ajax before being promoted to the first-team just before the Eredivisie came to a halt.

The Brazilian, who came over from Santos in 2017 for €2m, was a shock inclusion in Erik ten Hag’s Europa League round-of-32 side and scored a goal in their side’s 2-1 second-leg win over Getafe, which wasn’t enough to advance to the next round.

The youngster still has two years remaining on his current deal and it’s believed he would be available for anywhere between €4-6m.

In his stunning career with Jong Ajax, Danilo has scored 24 goals in just 42 Keuken Kampioen Divisie contests.
