Tottenham Women have confirmed the appointment of Martin Ho as their new head coach.
The Liverpool-born coach returns to England followng a spell at Norwegian side SK Brann.
During his time at Brann he helped the club reach the quarter-finals of the Women’s Champions League, where they lost 5-2 on aggregate to Barcelona in the 2023-24 season.
Ho will have a big task at hand in the 2025-26 season, after Tottenham finished a lowly 11th in the Women’s Super League last season. This was just one place and ten points ahead of Crystal Palace, who were relegated to WSL2.
Born in Liverpool to a Chinese father and English mother, the football career of new Tottenham head coach Martin Ho began as an academy player for Everton.
However, he soon moved into coaching working as assistant manager to Andy Spence at Everton between 2015 and 2018.
He then took on roles as manager of Liverpool Women’s U21 side and assistant manager at Manchester United Women.
In 2023, SK Brann hired Ho to replace former West Ham manager Olli Harder.
Ho led the team to second in the group stage of the 2023-24 Women’s Champions League, before going out to eventual champions Barcelona in the quarter-finals.
He leaves SK Brann midway through the 2025 campaign, with the club just one point behind league leaders Valerenga after 14 games.
Tottenham have also recruited to their playing staff in recent days. The club completed the signing of teenage Japanese international defender Toko Koga from Feyenoord earlier this week.
Manchester City have also confirmed the appointment of Andrée Jeglertz as their new head coach.
The 53-year-old will join the club from the Denmark women’s national football team after this summer’s Euros. Denmark play their Women’s Euro 2025 opener against Sweden on Friday.
Liverpool are yet to name a permanent manager after they fired Matt Beard back in February.
Beard has taken on a new job at third-tier side Burnley, who are turning professional for the 2025-26 season.C
Crystal Palace hired former Rangers boss Jo Potter as their new head coach, as they prepare for life in WSL2 after their relegation from the top-flight.
The 2025-26 WSL season commences on the weekend of September 6th and 7th. Fixtures for the new season will be released on Friday, July 25th.
If Tottenham finish bottom of the WSL table this season, they will be involved in a relegation play-off with the team that finishes third in the second tier.
The top two WSL2 teams will be promoted to the WSL for the 2026-27 season. These changes are part of a WSL expansion to 14 teams from the 2026-27 season
