Juventus opened their Serie A campaign against Como and it was a night of mixed emotions for Tim Weah.
The American struggled to find the net in Italy’s top flight last season but finally broke that unlucky streak on Monday.
Weah found himself open at the top of the box and rifled a long-range effort off the crossbar and just over the line for his first league goal after 31 games.
It means he is just the second American to score in both Serie A and Ligue 1 (formerly of Lille and Paris Saint Germain).
However, the pleasantries wouldn’t last long as Weah was forced off with an apparent hamstring injury before half-time.
Juventus manager Thiago Motta will hope there is nothing serious after seeing his lightning quick start to the season.
