This year’s Ballon d’Or podium has been leaked five days before the award ceremony in Paris.

The France Football award for the world’s best player has gone to either Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi in the last decade.

But according to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, Luka Modric will pick up the trophy on Monday after his exploits in 2018.

The Croatian midfielder guided Real Madrid to their third-straight Champions League title and was the captain for his national team as they reached their first ever World Cup final.

Modric has been the favourite for the award ever since he picked up Fifa’s equivalent – The Best – in September.

Perhaps more of a surprise though are the players in second and third.

Onda Cero say that Cristiano Ronaldo will beat the likes of Raphaël Varane and Kylian Mbappé to silver, whilst World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann will come third.
