Luka Modrić sends message to Kylian Mbappé over Real Madrid no.10 shirt | OneFootball

Real Madrid legend Luka Modrić has this week taken to social media, to respond to news of Kylian Mbappé’s new Blancos jersey number.

This, of course, comes after the Frenchman was officially named as Modrić’s successor as Real no.10.

The 10 shirt in Xabi Alonso’s squad became available for the first time in some time earlier this month.

As much came after the aforementioned Luka Modrić was not afforded an extension to his expiring contract terms.

Fresh off a stellar debut campaign in the Spanish capital last time out, Kylian Mbappé, in turn, was quickly named as the favourite to take over from the Croatian veteran.

Late on Tuesday, Mbappé’s status as Real Madrid’s new no.10 was then confirmed.

And as alluded to above, quick to send a message of approval the way of the 26-year-old was none other than Modrić himself.

Taking to the comments section of Mbappé’s latest Instagram post, featuring an image of him wearing the Blancos’ no.10, Modrić responed with a simple ‘fire’ emoji:
