Tammy Abraham has insisted that he can be the man to get the goals to ensure Chelsea qualify for next season’s Champions League.

Manager Frank Lampard was left frustrated after being unable to add another striker to the squad during the winter transfer window.

Chelsea were linked with a number of strikers during January, including RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner and Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani.

They also reportedly opted against a move for former Newcastle United striker Salomon Rondon.

However, their top goalscorer Abraham has reassured his manager and the Chelsea supporters that he can bare the burden of being the club’s main striker.

The 22-year old has netted 15 goals this season, and told the club’s official website: “Playing for a club like Chelsea there is always going to be pressure.

“I am sure I will score a few more. I like the pressure and I play under pressure.”

Abraham helped fire Aston Villa back to the Premier League last season, after bagging 26 goals during a loan spell in the Championship at Villa Park.

“For me I can’t complain, it has been a great season so far.

“I would like to push on. There are still massive games. I just have to be ready for them and take my opportunities.”

With there being a chance that Harry Kane may not being able to redeem full fitness ahead of the European Championships in June, there could be a spot as starting striker for England ahead for Abraham.

He has scored one goal in the four caps he has attained for the national side.
