Tammy Abraham after completing comeback from ACL injury: “I have no words.” | OneFootball

Roma forward Tammy Abraham made a surprise appearance today for the first time since his ACL injury in June of last year.

The Englishman was given the chance by Daniele De Rossi to come off the bench in the second half to today’s Derby with Lazio.

In his post-match interview with Roma TV, Abraham expressed his delight with the 1-0 result in Roma’s favor.

“I have no words, it’s been a very difficult 10 months for me,” said Abraham. “I’m happy to be back on the pitch, with the team and with these fantastic fans. There is still a lot to do, I can still give a lot, to make sure I’m there when the team needs me.”

“This was the perfect match to return, we attacked and defended as a team. For me the important thing was to get back on the pitch and help the team as much as possible.”

“I dedicate it to my family, friends and medical staff. To the coach and my teammates, they have always been there and supported me. The fans who have always been by my side were also important. Now comes another big match and we must be ready for it.”
