Julien Zamberk becomes new CFO, Philipp Reschke’s contract extended.
At a regular meeting on Tuesday 29 October 2024, the Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG supervisory board discussed a number of current topics, including the club’s sporting situation, the financial position of the public limited company, and the composition of the executive board.
During the meeting, which lasted approximately five hours, the appointment of Julien Zamberk to the executiveboard was unanimously approved, as was a contract extension for existing executive board member Philipp Reschke. Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Oliver Frankenbach will leave the board at his own request on 31 October 2024. He was originally due to depart on 30 June 2025. Julien Zamberk to be new CFO from 1 November 2024
Julien Zamberk will succeed Frankenbach from 1 November 2024, taking over responsibility for finance, property management, IT and the subsidiary company in charge of stadium operations. Zamberk, a business economist, has been working for Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG for over ten years and is managing director of Eintracht Frankfurt Stadion GmbH. The 36-year-old has been given a contract until 31 December 2027.
Philipp Reschke’s contract extended until June 2029
Furthermore, Philipp Reschke’s contract has been extended until 30 June 2029, having previously been due to expire on 30 June 2025. The lawyer has worked for Eintracht since 31 June 2001, and, as a member of the executive board since 1 July 2022, he has been responsible for the areas of merchandising, spectator services, legal affairs, fans and fan culture, match operations and security.
These personnel matters are of crucial importance, according to supervisory board member Mathias Beck: “We are coming into some decisive months with Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG and have major challenges ahead of us. In addition to unity and expertise, we also need people with knowledge of the processes and interrelationships between the AG and the club. Julien Zamberk is an absolute expert and has developed into a leading figure within the organisation over the past few years. “He was always our first point of contact when it came to filling the position of CFO and we’re very happy that he’ll be shaping the future with us. Philipp Reschke’s contract extension is also hugely important, as he’s been with our club for almost a quarter of a century. By taking these decisions, we are continuing to focus on continuity, Eintracht experience and a high level of expertise.”
Farewell to Oliver Frankenbach, Julien Zamberk to be introduced
Prior to Wednesday’s home match against Borussia Mönchengladbach, Frankenbach will be officially bid farewell by Beck and CEO Axel Hellmann. “Oliver Frankenbach has served Eintracht for decades and was able to celebrate great successes during his time in office,” said Beck. “It is very important to us to honour his incredibly long commitment in a fitting manner. In deciding to step down and hand over the reins to his successor, he is facilitating a smooth process in terms of budget planning and ensuring clarity in our workflows. This is also worthy of respect and recognition.”
