Their primary focus is to bring in strong and reliable defenders to enhance their backline.

Aymeric Laporte is pushing for a return to Europe. His potential exit has made the signing of a new defender a top priority for the club.

Al-Nassr were linked with Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, but they are now considering other targets.

Theate is attracting European and Saudi interest

Theate spent last season on loan at Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt from French club Rennes.

His strong displays persuaded Frankfurt to make the move permanent in January 2025.

The 25-year-old has subsequently gained attention from several clubs.

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are keeping a close eye on the situation and have contacted Frankfurt.

Atletico are looking to add defensive cover and see Theate as a solid option with long-term value.

The Belgian defender is currently valued at €24 million, according to Transfermarkt.

However, Frankfurt are not keen on selling Theate and want to keep him at the club.

He is viewed as an important part of their squad and someone they believe can play a key role next season.

Theate is a left-footed defender who can play as a centre-back or left-back when needed. He is known for his strong tackles, aerial ability and smart positioning at the back.

Al-Nassr are expected to continue their pursuit as they aim to secure his services ahead of the competition.
