Sunderland Women capture midfielder Katie Kitching

Sunderland have signed former London City Lionesses midfielder Katie Kitching on a full-time contract until 2024.

Kitching, who earlier spent five years playing for University of South Florida, joined London City Lionesses in January 2022 and won two of the club’s 2022-23 awards.

Kitching told safc.com: “I’m excited to get going. Everything here is great, the facilities, the people so I’m really excited to get started.”

Head Coach Mel Reay said: “Katie is a hard-working central midfield player. She has a good engine to get around the pitch and will add productivity to our midfield. She has settled in well so far and brings a wealth of experience with her.”
