Kicker reports that Bayer Leverkusen are far from done when it comes to their transfer business this summer.

Following the departure of Granit Xhaka to Sunderland, Leverkusen will potentially look to bring in a new midfielder. However, if they do, the midfielder will not be as experienced as Xhaka, as die Werkself showed interest in Ardon Jashari, who recently joined AC Milan and Nico O’Reily, who is expected to sign a contract extension at Manchester City.

It cannot be ruled out that Leverkusen avoid signing a midfielder as they are already well stocked in that department.

Loïc Bade and Malick Thiaw are both candidates for the centre-back position; the pair could each cost around €30m.. However, with the latter, Leverkusen are facing competition from Newcastle for the Milan defender. If Leverkusen decide to sign a less experienced midfielder, then a centre-back with experience will be brought in, and there is one that has already been targeted.

It is also reported that die Werkself also want to bring in a creative reinforcement in their attack following Florian Wirtz’s departure. This would then allow Patrik Schick to demonstrate his goal-scoring ability more often.

Sky Germany reports that Leverkusen are working on trying to sign Maghnes Akliouche. Leverkusen have held talks with the Monaco winger, but could cost more than €50m.
