Some fans were surely rubbing their eyes in disbelief over the weekend. During the 3-1 friendly win against Vissel Kobe, Hansi Flick substituted new signing Marcus Rashford just 33 minutes after bringing him on.

Was the coach so dissatisfied with his performance? Fortunately, no: “He hasn’t done much training with the ball yet and we want to ease him in carefully,” explained Flick, emphasizing that the former United star is still a week behind the rest of the team in training. In the upcoming friendlies against Daegu (South Korea) and Serie A club Como, the striker is expected to get more minutes.
