According to Foot Mercato, Marvin Senaya (23) could once again be targeted in the summer after RC Strasbourg fended off interest from Galatasaray during the January transfer window.

The fullback has become a key figure in Patrick Viera’s squad and represents one of only two players in the first team who have graduated from the club’s academy system (with Habib Diarra (20) being the only other).

Senaya has impressed in his first full season in Ligue 1 after he was loaned out in the previous two years to Ligue 2 sides (Sochaux-Montbéliard and Rodez AF). Fbref records the defender as being in the 98th percentile in tackles for fullbacks and the 97th percentile for interceptions.

Despite his obvious defensive presence, Senaya has demonstrated a keen attacking instinct, with a willingness to overlap and take on the opposition number.

Whether Galatasaray will be back in for the defender after they attempted to replace Sacha Boey (23) in the winter window, remains to be seen, but what is certain is that Strasbourg will likely have to fend off more suitors in the upcoming transfer window.

His future at the international level like for his club is uncertain. The defender can be called up by three countries, France, Togo, and Ghana.
