Manchester City clashed heads with Red Bull Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena earlier this evening as they focused on earning all three points on the road in the UEFA Champions League. Pep Guardiola’s men made a poor start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the 24th minute when Dominik Szoboszlai found the back of the net with a composed finish. Man City went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Andre Silva doubled Leipzig’s advantage in the 71st minute before Riyad Mahrez pulled a goal back for the Mancunian outfit just five minutes later with a good header. Kyle Walker received a red card in the 82nd minute as Man City ended up losing the match by a 2-1 scoreline.

Steffen made some crucial saves during the game but will be disappointed after shipping in a goal in each half.

LB: Oleksandr Zinchenko – 7/10

Zinchenko performed his defensive duties well and was always looking to create chances for others around him. He secured an assist for setting up Mahrez’s goal.

CM: Ilkay Gundogan – 6.5/10

The German midfield ace anchored the midfield well but struggled to make an impact in the attacking end of the pitch.

CM: Fernandinho – 6.5/10

He made one interception during the game but looked a bit slow at times in midfield.

The Belgian international made some decent chances for his teammates but failed to take any of the chances that fell in his path.
