Leyton Orient have agreed a deal to sign former Swindon Town defender Rob Hunt, sources have exclusively informed Football League World.

The 27-year-old is available on a free transfer following his departure from the County Ground earlier this summer and Leyton Orient have snapped him up ahead of the 2022/23 campaign getting underway this weekend.

Football League World understands that the full-back has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

At this stage of his career, Hunt is an experienced EFL operator having racked up over well over 150 third and fourth tier appearances across spells with Swindon Town and Oldham Athletic.

The 27-year-old’s career began at Brighton and Hove Albion where he made a single Championship appearance in 2016/17 after coming through their youth ranks.

Midway through that campaign, Hunt joined Oldham Athletic on loan, going on to make 10 League One appearances for the Latics before signing for the club on a permanent basis that summer.

A further 80 appearances for the club followed before Hunt made the move to Swindon Town in 2019.

107 times for the Wiltshire-based side before his departure at the end of June.
