The powers that be at Sevilla have set their sights on an out-of-favour member of the attacking ranks at La Liga rivals Barcelona.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Vitor Roque as the player in question.
The Sevilla brass currently find themselves on the lookout for reinforcements up top with a view to the 2024/25 campaign.
The Nervionenses have agreed a deal to part with top scorer Youssef En-Nesyri, who is all set to take his talents to Turkey with José Mourinho’s Fenerbahçe.
The hunt, as a result, is now on for his replacement.
And, amid the list of options drawn up by the Sevilla board, towards the very top comes the aforementioned Vitor Roque.
Frontman Roque is of course widely expected to depart Barcelona before the summer is out, yet to convince new Blaugrana head coach Hansi Flick of his readiness to contribute for the season ahead.
And, as per a report from Sport:
‘Sevilla have already put themselves forward as a possible destination. Roque is a footballer that they like a lot’.
The Brazilian himself is also understood to be open to the prospect of making his way to The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán, albeit with it remaining to be seen whether Barcelona are open to working out a loan deal with a direct rival from the Spanish top-flight.
