Gomis has featured in all eight of SPAL’s Serie A fixtures this season, keeping three clean sheets along the way.

And in an interview with Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, the Senegalese international has revealed he’s been a Gunners supporter ever since he was a child.

“My future? My wish would be Arsenal. I’ve loved the English team since I was a kid,” he said.

But the 25-year-old may have to wait a while. Arsenal signed Bernd Leno this summer and probably aren’t going to be in the market for a new goalkeeper any time soon.

The German will be hoping to establish himself as the club’s number one in the coming weeks and he will face stiff competition from Petr Čech, who was in good form before he was sidelined with a hamstring injury earlier this month.

Gomis only joined SPAL permantly from Torino this summer having previously been on loan there, but if he keeps performing for the Serie A strugglers, he may just get a move to a bigger club in the not-too-distant future.

The stopper currently has four senior international caps for Senegal and is likely to be named in the starting line-up when SPAL travel to face Roma on Saturday.
