Manchester City are hoping to have Sergio Agüero back in action half as quickly as originally expected.
The Argentine suffered a hamstring injury in last weekend’s 1-1 draw with West Ham and City were preparing to be without him for around a month.
That would have seen him miss their Premier League clash with reigning champions Liverpool on 8 November but there is now hope he could feature in that match.
According to reliable reports Jose Alvarez, Agüero is feeling good and could feature next weekend.
Agüero scored 16 times in 24 Premier League appearances (18 starts) last season but injuries have continued to interrupt his career.
The 32-year-old has managed to start 30 or more Premier League games in just one of the past five seasons.
Pep Guardiola will be desperate to have City’s all-time record goalscorer available as soon as possible but will be reluctant to rush Agüero given his a=injury record.
