Sport Bild reports that Club Brugge are close to finalizing a deal to purchase Hamburg’s Ludovit Reis. The newly promoted Bundesliga club’s attempts to hang onto their talented Dutch midfielder initially led to the rejection of €4.5m offer from the Belgian side. Reis nevertheless wishes to leave and, per the tabloid, a €6-7m bid will seal the deal.

Brugge continue to snatch up 2. Bundesliga talents. After signing Greek international Christos Tzolis away from Fortuna Düsseldorf last summer, the Belgian Pro League Champions completed the capture of Hannover 96 and Germany U21 striker Nicolo Tresoldi three days ago.

Reis – a former Barcelona academy man constitutes a big loss for HSV ahead of their top flight campaign. Reis hasn’t featured in the German first division yet, but has racked up 143 2. Bundesliga appearances for Hamburg and VfL Osnabrück over the past four seasons.

Reis turned in a remarkable season for Hamburg during the 2022/23 2. Bundesliga campaign, scoring nine goals and contributing five assists in 33 league appearances. The 15-times-capped Netherlands U21 international has had two quieter campaigns since.

Despite the fact that Reis’ estimated market value has sunk from a career peak of €6m in 2023 to €3.5m today, the Hanseatic city state side appears set to receive top dollar for the 24-year-old.
