Rangers turned in an energetic performance as they saw off 2.Bundesliga side Hamburg in Glasgow.
Scorers: Sakala 39′, Tavernier 45+1′; Dompe 90+1′.
A tight first half was decided by six crucial minutes towards the end with Rangers scoring twice to take control of this pre-season friendly at Ibrox.
Some strong pressing from Kieran Dowell led to a mishap in the Hamburg backline allowing Fashion Sakala to nip in and fire the ball beyond Heuer Fernandes in goal.
It may be the build-up to a new season but it was a similar sight for the home crowd as James Tavernier made it two from the penalty spot after Sakala had been brought down.
The visitors did manage to pull back a consolation goal in stoppage time courtesy through a stunning Jean-Luc Dompe free-kick.
Michael Beale’s side will face European opposition again on Wednesday when Olympiacos are the visitors.
