Portuguese journalist Sebastião Sousa-Pinto lists Bundesliga clubs Hamburg and Augsburg as potential suitors for a rising talent in the Danish league. Attacker Sérgio Pereira Andrade (“Serginho”) scored six goals and registered 20 assists for Viborg FF last season. Many sides across Europe are interested in investing in the 24-year-old, whom Denmark’s Tipsbladet could be procured for a transfer fee in the €4m range.
The two German top flight sides face plenty of competition, with clubs like Olympique Marseille and Burnley also reported to be interested. The race for the now once-capped Cape Verdean international could stretch out over the course of the entire summer. Naturally, the issue of cost comes into play for the two German top division sides.
Augsburg have already racked up €9m in outlays via the purchases of defenders Chrislain Matsima and Cedric Zesiger, though they have recouped some fund with Irvin Cardona’s permanent sale. Hamburg find themselves €2.5m in the red following the purchase of Kiel’s Nicolai Remberg.
