FLW has taken a look at the 2 players who must leave the club before the transfer window shuts.
Stoke City have opened the Championship season in excellent form following victories at home to Derby County and away at Sheffield Wednesday.
The last time Stoke won their first two opening fixtures in the Championship was in the 2007/08 season, the year the Potters earned promotion to the Premier League for the very first time.
Two late goals from Divin Mubama and Sorba Thomas saw Stoke run out as 3-1 victors over Derby on the opening day, whilst a 3-0 win away at crisis-club Sheffield Wednesday was enough to see the club go top of the table.
Manager Mark Robins will be delighted with how his side have begun the campaign, especially considering the contributions of their new signings at both ends of the pitch.
Stoke have made nine new additions so far this summer, including Mubama and Thomas, whilst Ashley Phillips and Jamie Donley join on-loan from Spurs and French duo Steven Nzonzi and Lamine Cisse bolster Robins' options.
The Potters will be desperate to keep this positive momentum heading into next Saturday's fixture at Southampton, which will be a true test as to what they are made of this campaign.
Whilst all is positive on the pitch, Football League World has taken a look at the two players in the squad that must leave in order to revitalise their careers.
Signed from Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros in the summer of 2023, Moroccan forward Mmaee's time at Stoke hasn't gone as the player or club would have hoped.
Mmaee was signed under Alex Neil in what was a summer of large spending by the Potters, with Wouter Burger, Mehdi Leris and Ben Pearson all signed for over £1 million.
The Belgian-born Moroccan international's first season in the Potteries was very stop-start, playing just 24 times in the league, scoring three goals and grabbing three assists as a series of hamstring and knee injuries kept him sidelined.
The next season started of brightly for Mmaee, playing in three of the opening four games of the season and appeared to be in manager Steven Schumacher's plans.
However, Schumacher was sacked after five games and Mmaee headed out on loan to Austrian side Rapid Wien for the season, though would fail to make a single appearance for the club following another injury.
Now back at Stoke, Mmaee has not featured for the Potters during pre-season, nor has he made any matchday squads, and an exit is surely on the cards before the window closes.
After joining in the same window as Mmaee, Vidigal started life at Stoke with a bang, scoring twice in Stoke's opening day 4-1 victory against Rotherham United in the 2023/24 season.
The winger would play 29 times in the Championship that season, scoring six goals, though he would struggle to find game time under Schumacher after he replaced Neil.
Last season, Vidigal did not start a single game in the Championship, playing just 95 minutes of league football all season, though would start once in each of the FA Cup and League Cup.
Now, Vidigal recently appeared and scored for Stoke's Under-21 side against Birmingham City, with Robins making it clear he is not a part of the first-team plans moving forward.
Under contract until the end of this season, Stoke will look to recoup any fee they can get from a sale, although a loan move is not out of the question purely to just get his wages off of the books.
