Antonio Rudiger is understood to be frustrated with the ‘very little’ progress that has been made over a new contract for the defender at Chelsea.

Rudiger has entered the final months of his contract with the west Londoners and is yet to agree terms on an extension, a number of leading clubs monitoring the defender’s situation ahead of the January transfer window.

The European champions are keen to tie the centre-back to a new deal, but Bild, as per Sport Witness, are reporting that Rudiger has become frustrated with a perceived ‘lack of effort’ from the club in agreeing a new contract.

Rudiger is aware his next contract is likely to be his last major deal in football and Chelsea have so far been unwilling to match his demands.

Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich have all been credited with an interest in signing the centre-back, with foreign sides free to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with Rudiger from January 1.

Should a new deal not be agreed in the coming months, Chelsea face the prospect of losing a key performer on a free transfer next summer.
