Karl Toko Ekambi broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time before former Parisian Arnaud Kalimuendo added a second (48') to hand Rennes a league double over PSG.

"What was missing? Scoring a goal," said PSG coach Christophe Galtier after seeing his side suffer their first home league defeat for two years. "We had 15 or 17 shots on goal, seven on target. Rennes had 3 shots and scored twice. When you are trailing 2-0, of course people could get the impression, from the outside and the stands but there was no drop in motivation or sign of giving up from my players."
