Ronaldinho will be high up on most football fans' list of most enjoyable players to watch.

The Brazilian was a magician on the pitch, capable of things that simply beggared belief.

Of course, there's plenty to be made of Ronaldinho's attitude and work rate. We would almost certainly be talking about a multiple Ballon d'Or winner if he was a little more dedicated.

But we're not about to condemn the former Barcelona player's mindset. He was a rare breed and one that fans will remember forever.

A modern-day icon

It wasn't just the tricks and flicks that made him so endearing. Ronaldinho's beaming smile never left his place during games - he always looked like a kid simply doing what he loved more than anything else in the world.

And in 2016, that was evident when he rocked up to play in the 2016 Premier Futsal tournament in India.

Ronaldinho put on a show at futsal tournament

The likes of Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Hernan Crespo and futsal legend Falcao all played in the event, but nobody captured the fans' attention like Ronaldinho did.

Playing for Goa, the retired showman played in just two games in the tournament but he still made his mark, scoring five goals in a 7-2 win over Bengaluru.

His highlights from the match show that at the age of 36, he hadn't lost any of his skills as he outclassed everyone, including opposing midfielder Paul Scholes.

The lob to make it 4-5. His no-look finish shortly afterwards. Just sublime.

'No one can compare to Ronaldinho'

For anyone reading this who is too young to remember the attacking midfielder in his pomp, get yourself over to YouTube and enjoy some compilation videos.

To call him a genius isn't hyperbole. You only need to read what some of the most high-profile players in recent history have said about him.

“Ronaldinho was more talented than Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. When we didn’t know what to do, he would create chances to score," his former Barcelona teammate Deco once said.

Neymar, meanwhile, added: "No one can compare to Ronaldinho".

Indeed, finding anyone with a bad word to say about the World Cup winner will be a tough ask.
