Barcelona star Gavi has this weekend provided his take on the club’s work to add to the attacking options in Hansi Flick’s squad this summer.
This, of course, comes after the Blaugrana at last tied up a deal for a high-profile winger last week.
Following months of rampant speculation, Deco and co. tied up an agreement with their Manchester United counterparts, to bring in Marcus Rashford on a season-long loan.
The Englishman has since gone on to line out in a pair of friendly fixtures for his new side, and managed his first goal contribution against FC Seoul in midweek.
And yet, had things played out just a little differently on the market this summer, then Rashford’s signing for Barcelona would have been all but ruled out.
The Catalans’ first-choice attacking target was Athletic Club star Nico Williams, who pulled the rug on the Camp Nou board at the last minute with an agreement on the personal terms of a contract already in place.
Speaking during an interview with RAC1 this week, the aforementioned Gavi was in turn drawn on the Nico-Rashford saga.
And the midfield starlet went on to explain:
“Everyone knows Nico Williams is an excellent player. He has always proven that with the national team. But I’m happy with the arrival of Marcus Rashford because he’s a great player. We’re very happy to have signed him.”
