While we’ve been busy covering Chelsea’s win over Fulham today, Fabrizio Romano has been hard at work finding out more transfer information for us.
As we plunge into the final days of the window, things are getting pretty hot at Chelsea. Christopher Nkunku’s move to AC Milan has been confirmed and Nicolas Jackson’s loan to Bayern Munich seems close too.
Meanwhile Alejandro Garnacho was present today, with his signing expected to be completed sooner rather than later. Despite all those departures, and despite a worrying looking injury to Liam Delap today, Chelsea look ready to shed another option.
Fabrizio Romano’s Tweet about Tyrique George’s move to Roma.
Fabrizio Romano has just reported that Roma have “scheduled direct talks” with Chelsea over winger Tyrique George. It looks as though he will join them on a permanent deal, but with a “heavy sell on clause.”
He also notes that today’s opposition Fulham are interested, with Roma trying to get a deal done quickly to avoid being caught in a bidding war.
We would love to see a buy-back clause in there too. We’re convinced George has huge potential he just needs a chance in the team to prove it. However, to some degree a heavy sell on fee can act in the same way – it effectively guarantees Chelsea a discount if they are the ones who buy George back.
George came on as an early sub for the injured Delap today and played most of the game. As well as Garnacho coming in, there will surely be another attacking addition before the window closes if George goes. Or could the Jackson deal be nixed at the last minute?
We’ve gone from too many to too few attackers in the space of 24 hours – isn’t it funny how football works?
