Fenerbahce have turned their attention to Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson Moraes, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano.
The Turkish side ended last season in second place and are determined to push Galatasaray all the way in the title race.
They also want to improve their chances of success across all competitions this campaign.
Galatasaray have been chasing Ederson throughout the summer and tabled a €10 million offer, which was swiftly rejected.
They have made no secret of their determination to land the Brazilian, but the situation has now become more complicated.
Fenerbahce have entered the frame and are reportedly working to hijack the deal. Their arrival in the race means Galatasaray face intense competition for a player they have wanted for weeks.
The goalkeeper could become Fenerbahce’s latest major signing after the club already secured Jhon Duran from Al Nassr earlier in the window.
The move demonstrates the club’s intention to build a team capable of competing at the highest level.
Ederson has found himself on the fringes of the City squad since the arrival of James Trafford.
Pep Guardiola has not handed him any playing time this season, leaving him frustrated with his lack of opportunities.
City are believed to be preparing for life without the Brazilian, with reports linking them to a move for Gianluigi Donnarumma should Ederson depart.
This underlines their willingness to let him go if the right offer arrives.
During his time at the Etihad, Ederson has collected an impressive set of honours. His silverware includes six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, a Champions League trophy, a Super Cup and a Club World Cup.
The goalkeeper has also won the Premier League Golden Glove award on three occasions, which highlights his quality and consistency at the very top level.
His proven track record makes him one of the most reliable keepers available on the market.
With Fenerbahce now competing with Galatasaray for his signature, the battle for Ederson is set to become one of the most closely watched transfer stories in Turkey this summer.
