His deal with the Giallorossi is nearing its expiry date and no talks have taken place to address Spinazzola’s contractual situation.

According to Il Messaggero, Roma have not made any steps towards a new deal for the ex-Atalanta man.

In fact, Roma technical director Florent Ghisolfi is said to have made no attempt to contact Spinazzola’s entourage.

Roma have made it a point not to meet with Spinazzola’s agent.

This came as a surprise as Spinazzola was reportedly hoping in an extension of his contract.

The club seem convinced that the player is past his prime and does not fit the Giallorossi’s long-term project.

As a result, Spinazzola’s deal is expected to run out soon, making him a free agent.

The Italian international joined Roma in 2019 from Juventus and collected a total of 151 appearances, 7 goals and 21 assists.
