AS Roma are interested in Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer, according to Sport Bild.
The Austrian international is unlikely to stay at Bayern past the summer having fallen down the pecking order. After a good loan spell with Manchester United in the second half of last season, the midfielder is going to attract the interest of various clubs one would imagine.
That appears to be the case with Roma and their head coach Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese manager is seeking alternative midfield options to bolster his squad for the upcoming season and Sabitzer is a potential candidate.
Early in July, it was reported that Bayern have put a €15m price tag on the Austrian which is the same amount he cost the club when arriving from RB Leipzig in 2021.
Last season, Sabitzer featured 24 times for Bayern in all competitions scoring one goal and collecting one assist. However, he was sent out on loan to United in January where during his 18 games for the Red Devils, he would earn four goal contributions and help the side to an EFL Cup trophy.
