The Chelsea ownership takeover has been a real saga but then to be honest, a deal as big as this was always going to be a drawn out process.

But when you look at it, it has actually been done very fast, because it has had to be. Today, Chelsea still couldn’t even sell tickets to their final game of the season at Stamford Bridge due to the daft Government sanctions on the club.

Todd Boehly and his consortium had been confirmed as the next owners, but it has yet to be officially signed off by the Government. But that is expected to come anytime from now until the middle of next week now, as top ownership source Ben Jacobs has tweeted today.

He also says that an announcement should’t arrive in the early hours of the morning just as the last one did!
