Report: Barcelona Fined for Supporters’ Racist Behavior in First Leg Against PSG | OneFootball

The UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie between FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have resulted in fines for the Spanish club after the behavior of their supporters in the first leg at the Parc des Princes.

Last week, UEFA opened up an investigation into racist behavior by Barcelona fans. On Thursday, Europe’s governing body reportedly handed the Catalan side a couple of fines stemming from the first leg.

RMC Sport reports that Barcelona have received a €32,000 fine from UEFA. The La Liga team faced a €2,000 fine due to their supporters bringing smoke bombs and fireworks.

Additionally, there was a €5,000 fine for damage caused to the seats at the Parc des Princes. Barcelona was also fined €25,000 for racist behavior, including performing Nazi salutes and imitating monkeys during the first leg against PSG.

This might not be the only set of fines that Barcelona receives from UEFA. RMC Sport also reported recently that PSG decided to send a letter to UEFA condemning the racist acts and chants directed at their player by some Barcelona fans.
