It appears Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion have successfully hijacked PEC Zwolle’s loan move for Ajax goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen.
The talented 21-year-old shot-stopper was set to join the Dutch outfit on a 12-month loan deal but Voetbal International claims that a move to England is now imminent.
According to the publication, Scherpen will join the Seagulls in a €5m deal.
Despite just making four first-team appearances for Ajax, the Amsterdam giants are set to make a quick profit after signing the player from FC Emmen for €1.5m just two years ago.
Scherpen was most notably called into action for the first leg of Ajax’s Europa League quarter-final against Roma, with Maarten Stekelenburg out due to injury.
