As reported by Le10Sport, Rennes are looking at signing Reims defender Wout Faes as a replacement for the departing Nayef Aguerd this summer window.

After a commanding season marshalling an inexperienced Rennes back line, Moroccan international Aguerd is in talks to move to West Ham United, with an agreement close despite it being held up by disagreements over bonuses with a €35m-€40m deal in the works for the 26-year-old centre-back.

Talks between the parties are active, say the outlet, with the player’s personal terms being discussed. However, with Roma and Newcastle also monitoring his situation, Faes has made it clear he is looking for game time rather than simply the biggest move possible.
