Even as we head towards the final phase of the summer transfer window, there are multiple Barcelona players facing the prospect of a potential exit from Camp Nou.

One of these players is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabonese international has become a late target for Chelsea, who are in the market for attacking reinforcements after losing Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner earlier in the summer.

The Blues are facing fierce competition from Manchester United. The Red Devils have become the latest club to join the chase for the Barcelona superstar, with coach Erik ten Hag keen on finding an attacking partner for Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, according to Matt Law, Chelsea remain the favourite to sign Aubameyang, irrespective of the interest from Manchester United.

The respected English journalist suggests the Barcelona striker is likely to join the Blues if he does leave Camp Nou by the end of the month.

Aubameyang, after all, has the experience of working with Thomas Tuchel in the past. He scored as many as 79 goals in 95 competitive matches under the German tactician, during their time together at Borussia Dortmund.

His strong rapport with Tuchel has made Chelsea the frontrunner in the race to sign the Barcelona frontman.

However, Aubameyang has offered no indication of his desire to leave Camp Nou just yet even after the arrival of Robert Lewandowski.

Many expect the Polish international to impact Auba’s game-time at Barça in the new season. But the former Milan starlet is prepared to fight for his place in the team, while Xavi himself is not too keen on sanctioning the sale of the speedy frontman.

Hence, Chelsea or Manchester United’s interest in the forward may only lead to a dead end, especially in these late stages of the transfer market.
