Real Sociedad president believes Martin Ødegaard will stay | OneFootball

Real Madrid sensation Martin Ødegaard certainly has a giant decision on his hands this summer, whether to continue at Real Sociedad or take a chance on becoming a first-team star with Los Blancos next season.

Real Sociedad have a verbal agreement in place to keep Ødegaard for a second year, however, his incredibly impressive form this season has Real Madrid considering bringing the 21-year-old back a year early.

At the end of the day, the decision is up to the Norweigan, and only up to him.

“I believe he will stay – that’s the hope we have,” Aperribay told Radio Euskadi. “It will depend on the will of the people [involved].

“If Martin Ødegaard stays at la Real (Sociedad), he will have to be convinced that it’s the best option for next year.

“He knows what we want and Real Madrid too, but we have to be respectful with Ødegaard and Real Madrid because he is a Real Madrid player.

“He came for two years, but LaLiga don’t do loans for two years and the second one has to be activated by the player.

“Our hope is that he stays and we think he will stay.”

After his stellar campaign last season with Vitesse, Ødegaard has once again generated some serious hype with seven goals and eight assists in 28 games in all competitions.
