The first-ever squad of players called upon by new Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Monday been announced.

And it features leading stars from both of Spanish football’s top two clubs.

The Ancelotti era in Brazil was officially kicked into gear on Monday. After the Italian saw out his final game on the Real Madrid bench in the club’s meeting with Real Sociedad over the weekend, the 65-year-old made the trip to South America to get his Seleção adventure under way.

Ancelotti’s first task, in turn, was to name his maiden Brazil squad.

And as alluded to above, on Monday evening, precisely as much has been unveiled across social media.

Stars from La Liga clubs Barcelona, Real Madrid and Real Betis have been called upon, in the form of wingers Raphinha, Vinícius Jr and Antony respectively.

Also afforded a recall is Manchester United midfielder and ex-Blancos star Casemiro, with whom Ancelotti shared time during a shared stint in Spain’s capital.

Missing out, on the other hand, is Rodrygo, amid ongoing efforts on the part of the 24-year-old to recover match fitness.
