The Santiago Bernabeu stands filled up for the final fixture of the season as Real Madrid eased past an unthreatening Real Sociedad.

Overall, it was an all-round performance with the midfield keeping things afloat, the defense keeping a clean sheet, and Kylian Mbappe doing what he does best – scoring goals and tons of them.

However, this match would be remembered for being the final moments of Luka Modric, Lucas Vazquez, and also Carlo Ancelotti at the Bernabeu.

That being said, here is how the Real Madrid players fared against Sociedad.

Player ratings

Andriy Lunin – 7/10

Had a fairly easy job in the evening. Looked calm on the ball, and had to make just 1 save in the match.

Lucas Vazquez – 6.5/10

The Spaniard did fairly well in his final game at the Bernabeu. He had a couple of clearances and a tackle, and was accurate with 89% of his passes.

Aurelien Tchouameni – 7/10

A solid shift at center-back for the Frenchman. Held his ground and did not commit any mistakes. 3 clearances and an interception and was accurate with 97% of his passes.

Raul Asencio – 7.5/10

He rounded off his league campaign with a much better outing as compared to the previous few. Was not dribbled past even once by the Sociedad players and ended the night with 6 defensive actions.

Fran Garcia – 7/10

The youngster was an active force throughout the match and showed an immense work rate. Made 1 key pass as well. It will be interesting to see if he has done enough this season to have a spot in Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad.

Fede Valverde – 7.5/10

It was a usual night for the Uruguayan. Playing through lower back pain, Fede had 95 touches, won 3/5 duels, and recorded 6 defensive actions as well.

Dani Ceballos – 7.5/10

After a string of below-average performances, Ceballos ended the season on a strong note. Completed 108/113 passes and recorded a key pass as well.

Luka Modric – 8/10

Even in his final game for Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu, he did what he does best – orchestrated the midfield to perfection and bowed out with a brilliant outing. 107/112 passes, 133 touches, 2 key passes, and 5/8 accurate long balls. Madridistas will surely miss the class of the veteran midfielder from next season.

Arda Guler- 8/10

If someone in the current squad is even remotely close to filling the void that will be left by Modric – it is this Turkish kid. A mesmerizing display yet again, as the youngster notched 3 key passes and created 1 big chance as well. Perhaps will have a bigger role to play on Xabi’s side next season.

Kylian Mbappe: 8.5/10

After a slow start to the season, no one would have thought that he’d end up winning the Pichichi, but it’s the reality now. 31 goals and 3 assists in 34 league matches, out of which 9 goals were scored in the final 5 league matches. Secured the Golden Boot and fair to say – that Europe should brace itself for the next season.

Brahim Diaz- 7/10

Received a surprise start and did his best. Made 2 key passes and created 1 big chance before he had to be subbed off due to an injury.

Substitutes

Vinicius Junior- 7/10

Capped off an underwhelming season with an assist to Mbappe. Had a shot on target and made a key pass in his 35-minute appearance.

Jesus Vallejo – 6/10

It was also his final appearance, but it was a rather quiet one. Held his ground, completed his passes, and warded off any danger.

Gonzalo Garcia – N/A

He was on the pitch for more than 10 minutes but had just 5 touches, which was not sufficient to warrant a rating.

Chema Andres – N/A

Came on for Modric and had a single touch, hence not enough to warrant a rating.
