Alphonso Davies’ future has been a topic of discussion for months now with Bayern Munich eager to tie him down to a new contract while Real Madrid wait to sign him as a free agent in the summer.

For the longest time it appeared that the Merengues would succeed in their endeavours but recent reports suggested that the 24-year-old left-back had made the decision to sign a new contract at Bayern Munich.

Davies not happy with Bayern Munich’s contract offer

However, now according to AS, contrary to earlier reports, Davies remains unsatisfied with the latest offer put forth by Bayern Munich, giving Real Madrid hope about a possible Bosman deal in the summer.

The latest proposal from the Bavarian giants would make Davies as the second-highest earner in the squad, with a salary of €25 million – second only to Harry Kane. Yet, the left-back has yet to respond, leaving the Bundesliga giants frustrated.

The protracted negotiations have seen Bayern submit three offers over recent months, emphasising the importance of retaining Davies. Losing him would deal a significant blow both institutionally and on the pitch.

As such, Bayern aim to resolve the situation promptly, whether positively or negatively, to avoid distractions as they approach the critical stages of the season, with the Bundesliga title race and Champions League progression at stake.

Decision soon

Davies’ current contract with Bayern expires in June, meaning he has less than six months left on the deal, allowing him to negotiate freely with other clubs.

Real Madrid are closely monitoring the situation, with plans to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. The Spanish giants have outlined their ambitions to secure his services, and Davies is aware of their commitment to making it happen.

Whether Davies renews with Bayern or opts for a fresh challenge elsewhere, a decision is expected by the end of the week – and both clubs are poised for the outcome.
