Raul Gonzalez has done a solid job since taking over as the manager of Real Madrid Castilla in 2019.
The club legend coached the youth teams for a year before taking over the B side and has been well-regarded for the work that he has done with the Merengues’ subsidiary setup.
So much so that, at one point in time there were even conversations about the former striker being in contention to take over as the first-team manager from Carlo Ancelotti.
While those talks have quietened down, it appears that Raul continues to attract interest from outside.
Indeed, as per SER Deportivos, Real Madrid’s La Liga rivals, Sevilla, have set their sights on Raul Gonzalez as a managerial target for next season.
With Sevilla going through a difficult season, another managerial change is expected for the next season and Raul has emerged as one of the contenders for the job.

The 46-year-old has previously turned down offers as he hopes to manage the Merengues’ first-team squad in the future.
However, with Carlo Ancelotti renewing his contract until 2026 and Xabi Alonso being lined up as his replacement, it will be interesting to see whether Raul opts to stay or leave.
In case the club icon opts to move on, another former star, Alvaro Arbeloa, currently coaching the Real Madrid Juvenil A team, would be primed to take over as the Castilla boss.
So, there could be some interesting movement within the Real Madrid coaching ranks come summer.
