Real Madrid request La Liga to reschedule fixture before facing Bayern Munich in UCL | OneFootball

Following last night’s exploits against Manchester City, Real Madrid set up a date with Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

The Merengues face the Bavarian giants in the European Clasico in the next three weeks, with the first leg to be played away at Allianz Arena on April 30, before the Santiago Bernabeu hosts the tie on May 8.

Real Madrid ask La Liga to reschedule Real Sociedad fixture

The fixture schedule is anything but kind for Real Madrid heading into the Bayern Munich double-header.

After all, Los Blancos face Barcelona this Sunday (April 21) before taking on Real Sociedad next weekend (April 27), which would be a Saturday. Three days later, they lock horns with Bayern Munich.

As such, journalist Arancha Rodriguez reports that Real Madrid have requested La Liga to move their fixture against Real Sociedad to a day earlier.

Indeed, the current leaders have asked the league to reschedule the match against La Real from April 27 (Saturday) to April 26 (Friday), so that there is an extra day for rest, recovery, and preparation for the Bayern Munich clash.

Real Madrid hope that La Liga honours their request and proceeds with the rescheduling of the match, although there has been no response from them yet.

There are unlikely to be any problems with the switch of dates, although an official update on the matter is awaited.

The game against Bayern Munich will be a special one given the history of the two teams in European football and the rivalry they have shared over the years.

The two teams have not crossed paths in recent seasons though and as such there is a lot of excitement leading up to the semi-final tie.
