The name of midfielder Kroos has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Spain’s capital over the course of the last 24 hours.

As much comes after the 34-year-old was responsible for another masterful performance, in Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final first-leg meeting with Bayern Munich.

En route to an eventual 2-2 stalemate at the Allianz Arena, Kroos conducted proceedings from his berth in the middle of the park with trademark style and grace, laying on a sumptuous assist for Vinícius Jr’s opener, too.

Speaking to the media on the back of the full-time whistle, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his future was put to the veteran once more.

This comes ahead of the expiration of Kroos’ contract terms in Madrid this coming summer.

The former Bayern man was once more keen to keep his cards close to his chest in assuring that ‘I have not made any decision’ when it comes to as much, but those of a Blancos persuasion, in reality, have little reason to fret.

It has long been considered just a matter of time before Kroos makes official his decision to extend his deal for another year.

And, on Wednesday, confirmation of precisely when as much is expected to arrive has come to the fore.

As per the aforementioned SER, the German international will announce his call to remain for the 2024/25 campaign following the 2nd leg of Real’s showdown with Bayern, next week.
