Real Madrid will be eager to welcome new faces in their ranks this summer as big-hitters like Kylian Mbappe and Alphonso Davies are expected to join the club this summer.

But the continuity of key stars will be equally important, as the Merengues have been especially keen on tying down Toni Kroos at the club.

It has already been widely reported that the German maestro has agreed to stay in the Spanish Capital for an additional season until 2025, yet an official statement has been pending.

Kroos will announce decision after second leg against Bayern Munich

Now, according to Cadena SER (h/t Madrid Zone), after next week’s game against Bayern Munich, Toni Kroos will officially announce that he will stay at Real Madrid.

Kroos has been a crucial part of Real Madrid’s midfield since joining the team in 2014, known for his precise passing, vision, and intelligence on the pitch.

This was especially exemplified last night against his former club Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, as he played a picture-perfect pass to assist Vinicius for the opener.

Over the course of his remarkable decade-long stint at the club, he has won 21 titles in all, the most notable of which are three league championships and four Champions League victories.

As such, the decision to stay with Real Madrid is seen as a positive development for the club. Real Madrid will be aiming to secure a win in the second leg against Bayern Munich to ensure the news of Kroos’ continuity comes at an opportune time.

Kroos will be present in upcoming Euros

In addition to confirming his future with Real Madrid, the 34-year-old star will also play in the Euros with Germany, having reversed his retirement recently.

Kroos gave up playing for his country in 2021 following Die Mannschaft’s underwhelming performance at the UEFA Euro 2020.

But as he continues to be an integral player domestically, he feels inspired to don the national jersey again, bringing his experience back to the German squad as they prepare for the Euro 2024 on home soil.
