The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid have made the call to keep hold of defender Fran García for the season ahead.
That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Friday provided an insight into the situation.
Full-back Fran has of course seen his future in Spain’s capital thrown up in the air across the summer to date.
Following the arrival of Álvaro Carreras, the 25-year-old is expected to be bumped down the left-back pecking order in Xabi Alonso’s squad.
As alluded to above, though, this does not mean that Fran doesn’t feature prominently in the plans of the new coaching staff at the Santiago Bernabéu.
This comes amid confirmation that, despite having received a number of offers for his signature over recent weeks, Real Madrid have labelled Fran untransferrable:
‘According to sources familiar with the youth academy player’s situation, AS has learned that Real Madrid have ignored the numerous offers they have received for the left-back because they are counting on him for Xabi Alonso’s future project.’
