Real Madrid are ready to join Inter Milan and Barcelona in the race to sign Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.
This according to Spanish outlet TodoFichajes.com. They report that coach Xabi Alonso wants to bring Tah to the Spanish capital with him.
Defender Jonathan Tah is set to be one of the big free transfer opportunities of the summer window.
The 29-year-old will leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of next month when his contract expires.
And Tah would certainly represent a big opportunity for clubs to strengthen their defense with an experienced German international without paying a transfer fee.
Inter have been among the clubs strongly linked with Tah’s signature.
Firstly, the Nerazzurri’s penchant for free transfer signings is no great secret.
That is the route via which all of Stefan de Vrij, Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Andre Onana, Marcus Thuram, Mehdi Taremi, and Piotr Zielinski arrived at the San Siro.
Meanwhile, Inter are reportedly still in the race for Jonathan David on a free transfer.
Furthermore, there is little doubt that Inter will look to make a big defensive signing this summer. They must plan for the future with Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi both well into their thirties.

Inter Milan are hardly the only club monitoring Jonathan Tah, however.
From La Liga, Barcelona have reportedly been eyeing the German up for some time.
But there is also the possibility of Tah heading to the other side of the El Clasico divide.
Reportedly, Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso is getting close to taking over as Real Madrid head coach. Therefore, he could replace Carlo Ancelotti.
And Alonso will be keen to make the Madrid squad his own.
Therefore, the Spanish coach could be ready to take one or two players to the Bernabeu with him.
Among them could be defender Tah. The German is a trusted defensive lieutenant for Alonso.
And according to TodoFichajes, Alsono wants to bring Tah to Madrid with him.
