Real Madrid fans poke fun at Barcelona & Xavi with chants before El Clásico | OneFootball

A section of Real Madrid supporters this evening made use of the opportunity to have some fun at the expense of upcoming opponents Barcelona.

Real and Barca, of course, are primed to lock horns once more in short order.

In a potentially decisive outing atop the La Liga table, Spanish football’s two biggest clubs will lock horns, in the final Clásico of the campaign.

Hosts Real, for their part, will into proceedings in the knowledge that an eventual triumph would see them all but assured of the title.

With Los Blancos fresh off booking their spot in the semi-finals of the Champions League in midweek, too, in should in turn come as little surprise to hear of the club’s fanbase being in altogether confident mood ahead of kick-off.

As showcased in the footage below, courtesy of The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana, droves of Real fans have gathered outside the Santiago Bernabéu, to aim something of a dig at their arch rivals.

The supporters in question can be heard chanting “Xavi, quédate!”, translating as ‘”Xavi, stay!”.

The implication here is of course that Barcelona’s manager staying on beyond his planned departure in the summer would come as a boost to Real Madrid’s prospects.
