An insight into the plans of the powers that be at Real Madrid for the club’s upcoming meeting with Cádiz has on Wednesday been provided.
The info comes courtesy of Marca, and points towards Carlo Ancelotti’s troops as facing up to a somewhat unusual evening on Saturday.
Sandwiched between the club’s two Champions League semi-final meetings with Bayern Munich, Real are primed to play host to Cádiz in three days’ time.
And Los Blancos will head into proceedings in the knowledge that, in the case of securing all three points, they could be crowned La Liga champions by the day’s end.
As much, however, will depend upon the result of the 2nd vs 3rd-placed showdown between Barcelona and Girona.
The Catalan neighbours are primed to lock horns mere hours after table-topping Real, with the result set to mark a significant one for a whole host of reasons.
It could prove decisive when it comes to the race for 2nd-place and, in turn, qualification for the Spanish Super Cup.
Not only that, but if Barcelona fail to emerge victorious at the Estadi Montilivi, after Real Madrid get the job done against Cádiz, the latter will be officially crowned as champions.
As per the aforementioned Marca, the plan is therefore for Ancelotti’s players to stay behind after the full-time whistle at the Santiago Bernabéu.
And, should their league-winning status be confirmed, Los Merengues will immediately kick into gear the celebrations, with a trip to Cibeles in the heart of Madrid.
