Real Madrid’s pre-season clash against Austrian side WSG Tirol is already creating waves, and not just on the pitch.

According to AS, tickets for the match, scheduled for August 12 at Tivoli Stadion in Innsbruck, were sold out just 40 minutes after going on sale.

The tickets were released at 12 noon, and by 12:40 PM, all 16,000 seats had been snapped up, which is a clear sign of the excitement surrounding the start of the new season.

The match will mark Real Madrid’s only pre-season fixture before they open their league campaign against Osasuna on August 19. More importantly, it has been billed as the symbolic start of the “Xabi era”.

The friendly, though brief in nature, will be watched closely as Madrid look to set the tone for what they hope will be a trophy-laden season.

New signings take centre stage

This game will be more than just a tune-up. It marks the official debut of Alvaro Carreras and Kylian Mbappe’s tenure as Real Madrid’s new number 10.

Carreras, who recently joined training with his new teammates, is set to wear the number 18 shirt and take charge of the left flank.

He now stands as the second most expensive defender in the club’s history and will be eager to make a strong first impression.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on Mbappe, who is set to wear the iconic number 10 shirt. The French superstar’s debut in Madrid colours has fuelled massive fan interest, even in Innsbruck, where WSG Tirol is not used to such attention.

Last season, the Austrian club averaged just 2,375 fans per game and even avoided relegation through the playoffs. But with Real Madrid in town, the stadium is sold out.

The madness surrounding the match highlights just how much buzz Real Madrid generate, especially with their new faces ready to make headlines.
