Real Madrid boss Ancelotti reaches out to Xabi Alonso after Bundesliga title win | OneFootball

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Monday added his name to the list of those to have forwarded congratulations to Xabi Alonso, on the back of his title triumph in Germany.

The name of tactician Alonso has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines across all of Europe over the last 24 hours.

This comes after the Spaniard’s remarkable exploits on the bench at Bayer Leverkusen this season finally bore fruit.

Owing to a five-goal drubbing of Werder Bremen, Die Werkself officially put themselves out of reach of perennial champions Bayern Munich atop Germany’s top-flight.

In turn, Leverkusen were named Bundesliga title-winners, for the very first time in the club’s history.

As alluded to above, messages of congratulations have since absolutely flooded in for Alonso and his troops, who could yet go on to round out a historic treble before the term is out.

And joining the list of those to have made public their delight for the former, on Monday, was the aforementioned Carlo Ancelotti.

Real Madrid boss Ancelotti oversaw Alonso’s endeavours on the pitch during shared spells in both Spain’s capital, and at Bayern Munich.

Taking to his official ‘X’ account this afternoon, the legendary Italian therefore unveiled a simple message, tagging his former engine room star, to wish him ‘congratulations’:
