Real Betis ‘working hard’ to sign Argentine defender | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Real Betis are actively working on the potential signing of Vélez Sarsfield star Valentín Gómez.

That’s according to market insider Matteo Moretto, who has on Friday provided an insight into the situation.

Gómez, for his part, is a 22-year-old defender, who generally operates in a central role.

The Argentine, a former youth international with the Albiceleste, has long been held in high regard in his home country.

Gómez has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe over the course of the summer to date, with Dutch giants Feyenoord, for one, understood to boast a strong interest in a deal for the stopper.

As alluded to above, though, as of today, it is Real Betis who appear to be pushing hardest for his signature.

As per a report from journalist Matteo Moretto:

‘Real Betis are working hard to finally overcome Feyenoord’s competition for Valentín Gómez. For now, Betis are in the lead for the Argentine center-back and are confident in closing the negotiation.’
